Providing a safe and healthy workplace is a priority of Langara College. In the unlikely event that you are injured in the course of your duties, it is important for you to report the injury to your supervisor/employer.
Leaders can report the incident by following these steps:
- Sign into Workday and open the “Health and Safety” module using the dashboard menu. Or search “Report Safety Incident” in Workday.
- Select “Report Safety Incident.” Refer to the job aid Incident Report.
- Complete all mandatory fields in the form to the best of their knowledge and submit.
- The Leader may then be asked to conduct a preliminary investigation to identify causes and undertake corrective actions to remove or mitigate future risk for injury/exposure in collaboration with Health and Safety representatives.
- Employees who sought medical aid or have lost time from work due to their injury or illness, will need to complete an Employee Report of Injury Form 6 with WorkSafeBC.
Note: The College provides WorkSafeBC coverage for employees and for students performing work for the College or away on practicum.
