Transferring Credit to Langara
Langara may award credit for courses completed at recognized post-secondary institutions, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), or A Level (Advanced Level) programs. Credit is not awarded for skill building, adult basic education, or continuing studies courses.
Transfer credit of up to 30 credits may be awarded to students who have completed a Diplóme d’études collégiales (DEC) program.
Transfer credit is not included in the calculation of Langara College GPA (Grade Point Average) and CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).

How do I request transfer credit?
Langara College does not automatically award transfer credit. Transfer credit must be requested by completing a Transfer Credit Request. The transfer credit assessment process can take up to eight weeks to complete once all documents have been received. If you are considering transferring credit, submit your documents as soon as possible.
Maximum Amounts of Transfer Credit
Up to 60% of Langara certificate, diploma, associate degree, and bachelor’s degree program requirements may be transferred from a recognized sending institution. Transfer credit cannot be used to fulfill graduation requirements for citations, post-degree programs, or micro-credentials.
Students who are considering transferring credit completed in the final 40% of their program should contact a Graduation Advisor to ensure the minimum number of credits to be completed at Langara College, as noted in the Langara Credential Policy F1001, are being met.
Transferring Credit from International Institutions
International students who request to transfer credits earned internationally are advised to contact an International Student Coordinator (ISC) for information regarding how international transfer credit on a student record may impact a post-graduation work permit application.
