Free, confidential, 24/7 counselling and community referral service that is available to all students currently registered with a BC post-secondary institution. Students can also explore wellness resources and opt to receive weekly “healthy reminder” notifications.

Empower Me 
Students covered under Langara Students' Union Health and Dental plan have access to free 24/7 counselling services, 365 days per year. You can talk to professionals about topics on depression, disordered eating, time management, career counselling, nutrition, financial planning, and more.

BC211 
One of the most comprehensive online guides to community, health, and government resources across BC. Including, but not limited to, financial aid, immigrant and refugee support, food insecurity, homelessness. Interpretation is available for over 150 languages. 

Crisis Centre of BC
Confidential, non-judgmental, and free emotional support 24/7 for people experiencing feelings of distress, thoughts of self-harm and/or suicide. Trauma-informed training courses are also offered. Over 140 languages available. Online chat option: www.crisiscentrechat.ca for adults or www.youthinbc.com for youth.

Access and Assessment Centre
AAC offers services to Vancouver residents (17+) experiencing concerns related to mental health, substance use and/or addiction issues. Individuals with a need for urgent intervention can be seen at AAC but this may involve transfer to the Emergency Department/Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. AAC referral intakes can be self or family initiated.

FindAHelpline 
Free and confidential crisis support through chat, text or in person, around the world. Depending on the country, you can find helplines for assorted topics that include, but are not limited to, eating disorders, sexual abuse, bullying, physical illness, abortion support. 

Salal Sexual Violence Support Center (previously WAVAW)
Offers free and confidential 24hr crisis line, information provision, workshops
, hospital/police accompaniment, criminal legal system support, counselling, MMIWGTS family counselling and more. Individuals of marginalised genders are welcome.  

Sexual Assault Service (Vancouver General Hospital)
Provides comprehensive health care to anyone 13+ who has been sexually assaulted within the past 7 days. Offers assessment and treatment of injuries/STI, pregnancy prevention, forensic evidence collection and emotional support. 24hr care by a team of female nurses, doctors and counsellors. Interpreters are available
  

Battered Women’s Support Services
Provides one-to-one support, legal advocacy, counselling, development programs, referrals, and support groups for women who have experienced relationship violence. Individuals of all races, cultures, physical ability, and sexual orientation are welcome. 24/7 crisis line available 

BC Society For Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse 
Provides treatment and support services to male survivors of recent/past sexual abuse. Support is also offered to significant others and relatives of the survivors. Individual and group therapy available.

Sheltersafe 
An online resource featuring a clickable map that connects women and their children to a transition house closest to them. Friends/family/colleagues of survivors are also welcome to use this resource. You do not need to stay at a shelter to receive support.

AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) 
Short term crisis support, safety planning, support groups, harm reduction supplies, advocacy and accompaniment services available to people of all genders who are survivors of sexualised and/or intimate partner violence. Non-UBC community members are welcome.
 

Healing In Colour 
A comprehensive directory of BIPOC therapists and allied professionals committed to anti-oppressive values in a variety of fields, across Canada. A list of community organizations, podcasts, articles and other resources are also available for healing and liberation.  

Naseeha 
Provides confidential helpline 7 days a week and workshops to young Muslims and non-Muslims regarding various life topics. Online one-on-one therapy is also available.

Fraser Health Cross-Cultural Support and Resources
Assists individuals who do not speak or understand English with finding mental health, substance use and general medical services. Individuals can access online resources to find culturally-specific organizations and a medical interpreter to help you speak to your doctor 

Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) 
A safe and welcoming youth health centre providing services and programs that support your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. You can access services by Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Counsellors, Elders and Registered Midwives. 

QMUNITY: BC’s Queer Resource Centre 
Supports (LGBTQ2SAI+) people and their allies with various services such as free counselling, workshops, special events, support groups, volunteer opportunities, and access to gender-affirming chestwear. 

Trans Lifeline  
A free 24/7 peer support and crisis line service for transgender people. Microgrants are also offered by donation.

LGBT Youthline 
Offers a phone and chat helpline serving the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The helpline volunteers are trained peer supporters, coming from a diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ identities and lived experiences. 

Vancouver Coastal Health 
Offers treatment services such as withdrawal management (detox), group therapy, counselling, assessment and medication. Services are free but may have restrictions with age and residency.

StopOverdoseBC 
A resource guide for treatment and support services, supervised consumption, overdose prevention and drug checking services. 

Toward The Heart 
Provides harm reduction services, naloxone and overdose response training. They are dedicated to information provision and awareness of substance use. 

Victim Services Unit  
The Vancouver Police Department Victim Services Unit provides assistance to victims of all types of crime and other traumatic incidents in Vancouver

VictimLink BC 
A 24/7 service that provides information and referral services to all victims of crime. They also priovide immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence
