The Langara College Philosophy Department has nine members whose areas of expertise covers ethics, applied ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of science, epistemology, metaphysics, philosophy of law, and philosophy of sport. The department strives to offer students a variety of learning opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to offering a diverse range of courses for university transfer credit and an Associate of Arts Degree in Philosophy, the department sponsors discussion clubs for students, an annual student philosophy conference, and a Philosophers' Jam dialogue series.

Our goal is to provide students with a diverse range of learning opportunities for engaging philosophical ideas. Students who concentrate on philosophy at Langara will be well-prepared to enter university majors or honours programs for a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
