Every year convocation comes and goes for post-secondary institutions. One might think that it’s almost factory-like watching the droves of students cross the stage. Handshake, pose, picture, move on. Handshake, pose, picture, move on. And so it goes, for hundreds and for some schools thousands of students. On behalf of the LSM faculty and staff, we would like you to know that it isn’t factory-like for us. Each year we are filled with great pride watching each and every one of our graduands turn into graduates. Each graduate is special to us – when you cross that stage, we remember your challenges, your joys, and think of your bright futures.
At the Langara School of Management, we do not turn-out cookie-cutter business school graduates. We are proud that our program produces top learners who go on to become leaders in the community. We believe that responsible leadership is only possible if taught by experiential learning. It takes more than good grades to be a leader, it takes wisdom. Our faculty have endeavoured to provide you not just with textbook lessons, but wisdom from their years in industry. We hope that your own experience and future will build upon what we have provided here.
We wish for joy to fill your hearts and for wonder to fill your souls. May the moments of joy and wonder hold you through the times of challenge and difficulty.
