Did you know that the Recreation Studies Programs are celebrating 50 years of Recreation Education? In that time, we have seen over 1000 alumni graduate from our programs. Our alumni are an important component of the success of our programs. They continue to make an impact by contributing to their local community with the skills and knowledge they've acquired.
Are you a Rec Studies Alumni who would you like to give back to the recreation community? We are always looking for alumni to enhance the programs through the following endeavours:
- Sponsor a scholarship or an award
- Apply for the alumni mentorship program
- Participate on a panel or as a guest speaker in one of the Rec Studies courses
- Write an article for our Perspectives Forum
Or volunteer as a recruitment team member by:
- Guest speaking at high schools
- Attending events, conferences and more on the Rec Studies Department’s behalf
- Assisting with the Rec Studies Social Media presence
- Attending an Information Session to speak on your experience in the program
- Share information about the Rec Studies Programs with colleagues and employees
- Provide a testimonial about your time in the programs
Please reach out to recreation@langara.ca to learn more about how you can give back to the Recreation Studies Community.
