Our staff at the Langara Child Development Centre consists of a "Head Teacher" and twelve preschool teachers. All members of our staff are trained as Early Childhood Educators and many also have Infant/Toddler and Special Needs training. All staff have current First Aid certification and have undergone Criminal Record Searches.
Professional Development
Our staff is committed to a process of ongoing professional development, both individually and as a team. Aside from their participation in training opportunities in the college and community, staff members receive in-service training sessions, using of funds earmarked yearly for that purpose. The goal of these sessions is to strengthen our staff team and enhance its skills in all areas of best practice in inclusive child care.
Early Childhood Education Students
Students from Langara's Early Childhood Education Program, Special Needs Program and other ECE programs do practicum placements in our centre under staff supervision. They are required to undergo Criminal Record Searches.
Volunteers
Volunteers and students in the Student Work Assistance Program assist staff in maintaining a tidy, safe, and well-organized environment. They may assist children under staff supervision. They are required to undergo Criminal Record Searches.
