Kinesiology Indigenous Community Engagement Scholarship

Awarded annually to an Indigenous student who demonstrates current and/or future involvement in advancing Indigenous health and wellness. Priority will be given to students enrolled in the Kinesiology Program, followed by students enrolled in another health-related field. If multiple students meet the criteria, cumulative GPA may be considered. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits in to be eligible.

Faculty of Kinesiology Leadership Award

Awarded to a student with second-year standing (completed 30 credits, minimum 15 credits in Kinesiology courses), currently enrolled in nine credits (general study), minimum CGPA of 2.70, calculated on all normally graded courses. Applicants are asked to submit a one-page description of their leadership with a focus on the following criteria: 

  • leadership abilities, 
  • community involvement, and 
  • ability to influence change in others. 

In addition, three references, including each referee's contact information, are also required.  The list of references can be submitted on a second page.

Harry Lendvoy Scholarship

Awarded to a student with second-year standing (student has completed 30 credits, minimum 15 credits in Kinesiology courses). The student is currently enrolled in nine credits. Preference will be given to the student with the highest CGPA. Applicants are asked to submit a one-page description (500 word maximum) focused on the following:

  • explanation of how the applicant intends to pursue their interest in a career in sports medicine (including, but not limited to, athletic trainer, physician, therapist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, fitness, health, or medical professional)
  • employment or volunteer experience in the field of sport medicine
