Efficient and effective function of the Langara Research Ethics Board (LREB) is supported by an administrative process that allows for thorough and timely assessment of all submissions. Investigators should be aware of the following administrative processes.
- Incomplete Submissions
Incomplete submissions will not be forwarded to the LREB for review. Investigators will be notified by LREB staff of incomplete status with requests to furnish the missing information. - Scheduling for Review
A completed ethics review appliction form along with its supporting documents must be submitted no less than 14 days ahead to the next scheduled meeting of the LREB in order to be placed on the agenda for that meeting. - Distribution Prior to Meeting
Completed submissions will be made available to LREB members no fewer than 7 days prior to the scheduled LREB meeting date. - Confidentiality
All materials received by the LREB are considered confidential. LREB members will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Ad-hoc reviewers and visitors to LREB meetings will be required to sign confidentiality agreements.
- Destruction of Copies
Following meetings of the LREB, hard copies of confidential materials will be collected by LREB administration staff for confidential waste disposal.
