Vancouver BC - The Association of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (ARNBC) presented Christina Larsen (Bachelor of Science in Nursing Grad, August 2017) with the Outstanding Student Intern Recognition Award at the 2017 Nursing Awards of Excellence ceremony on Friday, November 17.
“I would like to extend congratulations to Christina on receiving this prestigious award,” said Margaret Heldman, Dean, Faculty of Science. “Christina’s passion for health equity and policy have set her up to be a compassionate leader, and a caring health care provider.”
Christina's willingness to challenge herself and seek out learning opportunities led her to take the initiative to develop an exceptional draft position statement around poverty, demonstrating her passion for health equity and policy. Her ability to engage with the staff, board, and external stakeholders, and to articulate the very complex issues facing the nursing profession and health care system of today exemplified her leadership skills.
