In October, 2014, Jan Rooks, a Langara School of Nursing graduate from 1996 was tragically killed in an avalanche in Nepal. Jan worked as a cardiology nurse clinician at BC Children’s Hospital. Our faculty and students worked with Jan on a regular basis during Langara clinical practice rotations at BCCH. Jan was collegial and supportive of faculty members and provided guidance and promoted critical thinking with our students.
