Amrit has been recognized with the Lieutenant Governor's Medal and the corresponding Langara Award. Graduating from a one-year program, Amrit demonstrated high academic achievement and contributed to the community at seven different organizations. Amrit came to Langara to study Social Work and plans to further her education by obtaining a Bachelor in Social Work and a Law Degree, with the goal of working for the United Nations as a lawyer. She is grateful to those who helped her be successful, including wonderful professors, amazing classmates, and kind staff on campus.

Renee is graduating from the Diploma in Accounting where she received the highest cumulative grade point average from a two-year career program. Renee chose Langara because of its excellent teaching reputation and small class sizes. Her fondest memory is the camaraderie amongst the cohort of students in the program. She credits the co-op program with enabling her to explore different career possibilities while in school, and is currently completing her Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) Degree. After completing her BBA, Renee plans to pursue her Chartered Professional Accountant designation.


Natasha Cheong - Diploma in Social Service Worker (Coordinated) / Certificate in Social Service Worker

Governor General's Colegiate Bronze Medal & Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Certificate)

Natasha is awarded the Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal for graduating from a two-year program with the highest cumulative grade point average, and the Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Certificate) with the highest grade point average from a certificate program. Natasha came to Langara with a passion to pursue a career in helping people, and she leaves Langara with a wealth of new knowledge, understanding the complexity of various social issues. The Social Service Worker program has taught her self-awareness, accountability, and transparency in practice. Natasha looks forward to gaining work experience in the field and eventually completing a Master's Degree in Social Work.


Ramona Lee Golech - Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Bachelor's Degree)

Ramona is honoured to win the Langara College Graduate Excellence Award, awarded to a student graduating from a Bachelor's Degree program with the highest cumulative grade point average. She has enjoyed her time at Langara, especially in biology and pathophysiology classes. For Ramona, the two greatest outcomes of attending Langara are the lasting friendships, and the program content that prepared her to work as a Registered Nurse. After graduation, she hopes to gain her Emergency Nursing specialty within the next year and to continue on to earn her Master's Degree in Nursing.


Ian Li - Bachelor of Science in Nursing

President's Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service

Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Langara, Ian demonstrated academic excellence and was involved in community service during his academic career. He chose Langara to study Nursing because the program is academically rigorous. The English courses Ian took helped him excel at academic writing at a post-secondary level, and studying at a college helped him save money on tuition dollars. Throughout his studies he learned the importance of communication and believes the skills he's gained will allow him to practice nursing effectively. Currently, Ian is focusing on passing his board exam and looks forward to practicing critical care in nursing.


Krista Prins - Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology

Langara College Graduate Excellence Award (Arts and Science)  

Graduating with an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology, Krista was awarded the Langara College Graduate Excellence Award for achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in a two-year arts and science program. After a nine year gap in education, Krista chose Langara because of its flexible options and small classes. She found psychology is applicable in her life as it helps her build a better understanding of herself and those around her, and equips her to be more effective as a local minor hockey coach. Krista has since enrolled in the Professional Bookkeeping Certificate at Langara. 


Lea Monica Rosete Ribaya -  Bachelor of Business Administration

President's Medal for Academic Excellence and Community Service

Lea, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Degree in Accounting, has been awarded the President's Medal for academic excellence and her community volunteer experience. As a result of great advisors, co-op experiences, and a well-structured program, Lea has elevated her knowledge and understanding of the business world, and developed her soft skills to work in a professional environment. During her time at Langara, she was also a member of the Langara Business Association and the Langara Accounting Club. Lea’s goal is to become a Chartered Professional Accountant and is currently pursuing a career in cross-border taxation.
