When to Apply
- Deadline for applications: February 15, 2024
- $500 non-refundable deposit must accompany application
Note: Applicants must be nineteen or older at least two weeks before departure.
We have a maximum number of participants, so apply early!
Deposits are non-refundable unless your application is not accepted, or if the program is cancelled.
**NOTE: The instructors will require more information and applicants will be invited to an individual interview with the instructors before your application is accepted**

- Deposit cheque for $500.00 payable to Langara College (payment can also be made online or by debit card at Student Accounts).

Please also email a statement of interest (as a pdf file) and an unofficial transcript to the instructors Nariko Takayanagi (ntakayanagi@langara.ca), Ben Wood (bwood@langara.ca) and globalengagement@langara.ca
The statement of interest should address why you are interested in the program. It should be between 1 and 1.5 pages, double spaced.
If you have other education or experience, or if you are relatively new to Langara, you may choose to submit your unofficial high school transcripts and/or a resume in addition.
Once you have submitted your statement of interest and transcript(s), we will contact you regarding inext steps. Applying to the program and having an interview do not guarantee you a spot. You need to meet the criteria to be accepted to the program.
Once your application is received, your non-refundable deposit will be processed. The remaining balance of the program fee must be paid by March 15, 2024. Tuition is paid separately (and in addition to the field studies program fee) in April on the regular deadline for summer semester. If you were not accepted into the program, the deposit will be returned to you.
Applicants who are not current Langara College students must complete a Langara College application form, submit their high school or college/university transcripts, and pay a $40.00 non-refundable application fee.
