Program

The program is open to everyone as long as they meet Langara College’s admission requirements.  Final acceptance to the program will be subject to an interview, and an evaluation of your application and academic record. We also welcome students from other post-secondary institutions.

This study tour will provide opportunities for students to;

  1. understand basic historical development of Japan by going through the amazing historical and cultural sites led by the instructors;
  2. gain a sense of the traditional cultural influences on contemporary Japanese society and people by experiencing and observing traditional and contemporary cultural practices (e.g., participating in a Zen workshop at a temple, attending a tea ceremony, watching traditional dance performances, observing contemporary youth culture)
  3. observe how Japanese people live their daily lives and understand how Japanese culture influences the way people live in Japanese society

The tentative cost of the program is *$3965, though this may still be adjusted.
