The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, 2024, acrylic and oil on canvas, 48" x 36"

Born in Vancouver and a graduate of Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design and UVic Visual Arts, Angus Ferguson is an artist and educator. His work has been exhibited in the US and Canada. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Trapp Projects and Burrard Arts Foundation in Vancouver. He has received grants from the BC Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts and lives and works in Victoria BC located on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples. Working primarily in painting and drawing, his work moves from comical figuration laden with popular culture references to representation of art studio detritus and haphazard mark making.
