Vancouver, BC – On Thursday, April 3, Langara College is excited to welcome prospective students and the community to our first annual open house, LangaraFest! Happening from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, prospective students and other guests can explore the College’s many programs in science, technology, humanities and social sciences, creative arts, business, Continuing Studies, and much more.

Bring your family and friends and get ready to enjoy an amazing night. Parking on campus will be free after 3:00pm. This is a free event, but registration is required. RSVP at Langara.ca/open-house.

Highlights of the event include:

The night starts with an information fair and Q&A with faculty members, program coordinators, and Student Services staff from areas like admissions, academic advising, counselling, athletics, financial aid, Indigenous Education, and accessibility, to name a few. Langara academic leadership will talk about what makes the College unique, and we will have current students and alumni share insights into the student experience, academic journey, and general advice about life at Langara.

Exhibitions and displays will be set up to showcase student works from our Design Formation, Professional Photography, Fine Arts, Film Arts, and Theatre Arts at Studio 58 programs—including the final production of their current season, We Are Boy Band, at 7:00pm (tickets required). We will also have lots of interactive activities, such as a music production demo that shows learners how to create a track from scratch in just 30 minutes.

Guided tours will take guests through our state-of-the-art creative studios, where future students can learn about everything from news broadcasting to stage production, lighting and camera equipment, painting, sculpture, printmaking, spatial design, visual storytelling and other modes of artistic expression and innovation that transforms ideas into reality.

Guests will dive into the world of science and technology in our Bioinformatics lab to explore cutting-edge research in genetics, medicine and biotech. Learn about human physiology and kinesiology, check out the astronomical wonders of the universe through our rooftop telescopes, and see our high-tech Nursing Simulation Centre where students train with hands-on medical scenarios in a realistic healthcare environment.
