Langara Journalism gives students intensive hands-on training in all the skills required for successful careers in newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the web.
The department teaches the fundamentals of journalism while replicating what it’s like to be in today's newsrooms. Specialties include story telling for multi-media platforms, news writing, research and interviewing, copy editing, newspaper layout and design, and media law and ethics.
All the instructors have had successful careers as reporters, editors, producers, broadcasters, photographers, and online editors in a variety of media, from small community papers to urban television stations to national dailies to international publications.
