Application Process and Deadlines:

  1. Interested students must register for LAMS 1102 during the fall registration period. Every student registered in the course will be emailed a Costa Rica Field Studies application directly from the instructor. There is no pre-requisite for the LAMS 1102 course although there is a maximum number of students able to participate in the Field Studies experience. If we have more students from the LAMS 1102 course registered than spots in the internship, we will draw names of eligible students. Students who do not elect to participate in the field studies or, who are unsuccessful in the draw, will not be at a disadvantage for completing the requirements of the LAMS 1102 course.
  2. November 29, 2024 is the deadline for complete GSO Costa Rica Field Studies applications to globalskills@langara.ca. Early applications are welcome!
  3. One on one interviews will take place the week of December 2nd
  4. December 6th, Interview committee will create the list of students being offered a spot along with a waitlist and will notify all student applicants.
  5. Registration into WILX 1101 will occur once final group is selected. Registration in WILX 1101 is only opened when we have the confirmed list of Costa Rica participants. Students will be notified of when they can register.
