Innovations in the biotechnology sector and precision medicine are driving demand for professionals with advanced competencies in mass spectrometry data analysis applied in areas such as biomarker discovery, clinical diagnostics, and drug development. The Proteomics and Metabolomics micro-credential introduces learners to the principles and applications of protein characterization and metabolic analysis, with an emphasis on real-world biological and biomedical questions. Through applied computational and data-driven approaches, students explore how proteomes and metabolomes are measured, analyzed, and integrated to explain phenotypes, biological systems, and disease mechanisms. The program prepares learners to design experiments, analyze large-scale omics datasets, and apply protein- and metabolism-based insights in research and industry contexts.

This micro-credential emphasizes an integrated and applied learning approach, combining theoretical foundations with computational analysis of proteomic and metabolomic data. Students gain experience interpreting protein function, metabolic pathways, and evolutionary influences on biological systems, with applications spanning health, environmental science, and drug discovery. The program is designed to support learners pursuing careers or further study in bioinformatics, systems biology, biomedical research, and related life sciences fields.
