High Performance Liquid Chromatography
About
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is an essential process common to all industrial settings that require chemical identification and quality analysis. Learners in this micro-credential have the opportunity to master the applied laboratory skills needed to operate a High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC). Students learn through hands-on experience with an HPLC instrument, how to maintain the system, run samples, and analyze data.
The micro-credential program is suitable for recent high school graduates who have completed at least one post-secondary chemistry course, as well as ind viduals that have completed the Applied Analytical Laboratory Skills micro credential program at Langara College.
Students learn how to set up the HPLC instrument and adjust parameters for separations, utilize Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to plan and perform sampling runs, use effective records management, and apply privacy and data security principles including respect of Indigenous data sovereignty.
The High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) micro-credential ladders on top of the Applied Analytical Laboratory Skills micro-credential and consists of three stackable microcourses. Prior learning assessment based on wor place experience is available for applicants who are already employed in a r lated field and want to enhance their skill set.
