StrongerBC future skills grant
Get up to $3,500 for short-term skills training
The StrongerBC Future Skills Grant helps eligible British Columbians gain new skills, advance their careers, or prepare for a new job by covering up to $3,500 in tuition for eligible short-term training programs.
At Langara College, the grant can be used toward a variety of Continuing Studies and selected Regular Studies programs designed to help you build in-demand skills.
How to Apply
Applying for the grant is easy. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Complete the Langara Registration Form
Applications for the 2026–2027 academic year open on July 8, 2026.
Fill out the Langara FSG Declaration and Registration Form.
Step 2: Apply for the Grant
Submit your StrongerBC future skills grant application using your BC Services Card Account.
Step 3: Complete Any Additional Program Applications
Some programs require an additional application before you can be admitted.
Additional applications are required for:
- Regular Studies programs
- Career Development Professional
Important
All required application steps must be completed before Langara can review your registration.
Funding is limited and registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis until available funding has been fully allocated.

An additional application via EducationPlanner BC is required for Regular Studies programs. Applicants must also meet the program’s admission requirements, including English Language Requirements.

Returning Students

Program Completion & Funding Information
If you receive the StrongerBC future skills grant, you must complete your chosen program within 52 weeks from your program start date.
Once you begin your first course, the full cost of your program is counted toward your $3,500 StrongerBC future skills grant lifetime funding limit, even if you take your courses across different terms within the 52-week period.

Withdrawal Policy
When you start your first course in a program funded by the StrongerBC future skills grant, the full cost of your program is counted toward your lifetime funding limit of $3,500.
Withdrawing from a course
If you need to withdraw from a course, you must let us know at least 24 hours before the course start date.

Re-registering for another course
If you withdraw from one or more courses, you may be able to take other eligible courses within your program at no additional cost. This must be done within 52 weeks of your original program start date, and only if you have not exceeded the required program components.

Refunds
Refund requests are reviewed individually. Any refund is not guaranteed and is approved at the College’s discretion.
Course cancellations
A minimum enrollment is required for each course to proceed. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the College reserves the right to cancel the course. We will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible if a cancellation occurs.
If a course is cancelled by the College, the value of the cancelled course will not be applied against your future skills grant $3,500 lifetime funding limit.
