Build practical accounting skills by learning to use Sage 300, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounting system used by business across a wide range of industries. This micro-credential provides hands-on training in managing financial information, processing transactions, and generating reports within an integrated business system. Whether you're beginning a career in accounting, enhancing your current role, or expanding your software skills, you'll gain experience using an industry-standard ERP platform.

No previous experience with Sage 300 is required. A basic understanding of accounting principles is recommended.

What You'll Learn

By the end of this micro-credential, you will be able to: 

  • Understand how computerized accounting systems improve accuracy, auditability, and operational efficiency within financial operations
  • Navigate Sage 300 Financials with confidence, customize the working environment, and manage accounting data following industry‑standard ERP practices
  • Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions using complete A/P and A/R workflows, including entering supplier and customer invoices, payments, receipts, and adjustments
  • Maintain and manage vendor and customer records, including terms, credit limits, aging, and other master‑file controls
  • Use Sage 300’s built‑in reporting tools to generate financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet) and create dashboards that analyze key performance indicators
  • Prepare, post, and review General Ledger journal entries while using inquiry tools to interpret and analyze financial data and support informed decision making
  • Perform bank reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment between bank records and the General Ledger

Program Structure

  • The micro-credential includes two 6-week courses, so the program can be completed within one semester/four months
  • Courses are delivered online synchronously (via Zoom), with 3-hour evening classes once per week

Successful completion of this micro-credential can be applied towards other bookkeeping and accounting programs at the college.
