No previous experience with QuickBooks Online is required. A basic understanding of accounting principles is recommended.

What You'll Learn

By the end of this micro-credential, you will be able to: 

  • Use QuickBooks Online for day-to-day bookkeeping
  • Set up and customize a company file, including the Chart of Accounts, General Ledger, and sales tax settings
  • Record day-to-day bookkeeping transactions, including journal entries, recurring transactions, sales, purchases, and expenses
  • Manage customers, suppliers, inventory, and banking activities, including bank feeds and account reconciliations
  • Generate, customize, and share financial and management reports to support business decision-making
  • Prepare financial statements, complete period-end closing tasks, and use audit tools to maintain accurate records
  • Improve efficiency by exporting data and using productivity features and integrated apps

Program Structure

  • The micro-credential includes two 6-week courses, so the program can be completed within one semester/four months
  • Courses are delivered online asynchronously, with in-person final exams. Students can review the course content on their own time, with no scheduled weekly class times. However, students will need to keep up on a regular basis, as there may be deadlines for homework, assignments or quizzes, and the final exam date is scheduled in advance. Courses are not self-paced. 

Pathways

Successful completion of this micro-credential can be applied towards other bookkeeping and accounting programs at the college.
