Academic Requirements
Domestic Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent) or be 19 years of age or older
International Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent); or successful completion of one full academic year OR successful completion of a minimum of 24 university credits at a recognized post-secondary institution.
English Language Requirement
- Successful completion of English First Peoples 12, English Studies 12, or Literary Studies 12 (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of a post-secondary English or Communications course for which Langara College
awards transfer credit - A minimum “S” grade in Langara ENGL 1107 or 1110; Or a minimum “C” grade in ENGL 1120
- A minimum score of 3 on the Langara English Test (LET)
- International Baccalaureate (IB) ENGL A (HL or SL) 2; Or IB ENGL LIT & PERFORM (SL) 2
- Advanced Placement (AP) ENGL LIT & COMP 2; Or AP ENGL LANG & COMP 2
- A minimum “C” grade in GCSE O-Level English or GCSE English Language B
- Successful completion of LEAP Level 8 (or equivalent)
- IELTS Academic Overall 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0 (see note a)
- Duolingo English Test 110 (see notes a and b)
- TOEFL (IBT) Overall: 80, Writing: 20, Reading: 20, Listening: 18, Speaking:18 (see note a)
- CAEL Overall 60, Essay: 60 (see note a)
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): 56 (see note a)
- If you have completed at least four years of full-time secondary or post-secondary study in English, you may have met the English Language requirements. For a list of approved countries, refer to English Language Countries.

a. Assessment test scores are valid for two years from the date they were taken.
