Vancouver, BC – Langara’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Management recognized 504 outstanding students at special ceremonies on March 14 and 26, 2018 as part of the Dean’s Honour Roll program.
Students were invited to join the Social Sciences and Management Program Deans in the T Building Gallery for a private reception where 116 students were presented with a certificate by proud faculty members.
The Dean’s Honour Roll program recognizes the exemplary work of student’s college-wide. The designation is recorded on students’ official academic transcripts.
“Officially recording their outstanding success is important as this recognition may provide the student with a competitive advantage whether they are pursuing further studies or careers,” said Jacqueline Bradshaw, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Management.
Students are evaluated for placement on the Dean’s Honour Roll at the end of each semester. The number of students who may achieve the standing is not limited, and all students who meet the criteria will be recognized.
To achieve the Dean’s Honour Roll, students must be in good standing in addition to:
- Completing a minimum of 12 Langara credit hours in the semester being evaluated, with at least 9 of those credits having been completed in normally graded courses; and
Achieving a minimum semester grade point average (SGPA) of 3.50, calculated on all normally graded courses completed in the semester being evaluated.
