Vancouver, BC – Langara College received $25,000 from Compass Group Canada at a ceremony held on Monday, April 11, 2016. The funds will be used to further endow four bursaries/scholarships previously created by Compass Group Canada.
“We’ve worked together closely with our clients, with the President of the college and with the [Langara] Foundation to provide as much as we can back to the students,” said Mr. Robert Morelli, Regional Director, Compass Group Canada Ltd.
“I was privileged to meet three of the students who received the awards this year. It is wonderful to know that our contributions make a difference. We are very proud to help.”
Compass Group Canada is the parent company of Langara’s food service provider, Chartwells. Since 1999, they have created four awards (Compass Group Endowed Bursary, Chartwell Bursary, Chartwell Nursing Excellence Award, and Chartwell Award of Excellence) to honour academic success and assist students in need. The awards have supported over 400 students since their creation.
“We are very grateful to Compass Group Canada for their continued support. With today’s announcement, Compass Group Canada is committing a total of $125,000 over the next five years to assist Langara students,” said Ajay Patel, Acting Executive Director, Langara College Foundation.
