Dear campus community,

We look forward to welcoming many of you back to campus for the upcoming fall semester. Although the circumstances are not what we had anticipated even a few weeks ago, we have been working hard to adapt our plans to the changing circumstances, new PHO orders, and Ministry Guidance, to keep our community safe.

Amended Return to Campus Guidelines
Today we have received updated Return to Campus Guidelines (pdf) which we are sharing for your information.

Mask Mandate
Yesterday the PHO released the detailed order on face coverings (pdf). Masks must be worn in all indoor public spaces on campus including classrooms and hallways, so please be sure to bring a mask with you to campus each day. A supply of disposable masks will be available in case you forget. More details about the mask requirement are on our website. For those of you coming to campus by transit, a reminder that you will also need a mask to ride buses, Skytrains, or Seabuses.

Daily Health Check
Please be sure to monitor your health using the BC Thrive Self-Assessment Tool, and if you are sick, do not come to campus; stay home and get tested.

Proof of Vaccination
As recently announced by the PHO, proof of vaccination will be required after September 13 for some non-educational activities on campus. We expect to learn more about how this requirement will work and will share more information with you as it becomes available. Vaccination protects against COVID-19 infection, serious outcomes, and sustained transmission. Full vaccination offers high levels of protection against infection, including  COVID-19 variants. We encourage everyone who can to get vaccinated if they haven’t already.

Communicable Disease Plan
For your information, the College’s Communicable Disease Plan is available on our website.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we adapt our fall plans to the new PHO orders and Ministry guidance. We know you have questions, and we will continue to update you as information becomes available. As always, your feedback and questions can be sent to us at Our updates for students can be found on

Thank you for your continued support and for doing your part to keep the Langara community safe.

Wishing you all a successful and safe semester.
