Advance your chemistry lab expertise by mastering one of the most widely used tools in chemical analysis. 

 In this micro-credential, you will build specialized skills to operate HPLC systems used in pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, manufacturing, and research. 

Through hands-on training, you will learn to prepare and run samples, interpret data, troubleshoot results, and support accurate chemical identification and measurement. 

Who is this program for? 

This program is ideal if you have completed post-secondary general chemistry or the Applied Analytical Laboratory Skills micro-credential, and: 

  • Want to specialize in analytical chemistry techniques 
  • Work in or are entering industries that require advanced chemical analysis 

Prior learning assessment based on workplace experience is available for applicants who are already employed in a related field and want to enhance their skill set. 

What you’ll learn 

By completing this micro-credential, you will be able to: 

  • Set up, operate, and maintain an HPLC instrument 
  • Prepare and run samples using Standard Operating Procedures 
  • Learn effective records management
  • Apply privacy and data security principles including respect of Indigenous data sovereignty. 

Program structure 

  • Format: In-person, part-time 
  • Length: Program duration is a minimum 3 months. 
  • Structure: 3 micro-courses with a total of 15 hours for each course
