Andy specializes in tax audits, advisory services, and statutory interpretations. With a wealth of practical experience, Andy brings real-world scenarios into the classroom, ensuring a dynamic and relevant learning experience. His expertise lies in navigating the complexities of the Canadian tax landscape.

Bill Galloway, PhD, CPA, CGA Instructor - Management Accounting 1

Bill Galloway, PhD, CPA, CGA has decades of experience in teaching business, accounting, and statistics. He worked in the Information Technology, Financial Controllers’ office, and management accounting roles for a manufacturing company. Bill received his PhD at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, and his first degree in Mathematics from Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Bill continues to learn from students and is continually impressed by their tenacity as they face many stresses on top of their academic burdens. Aside from being an instructor, Bill is also a certified fitness instructor. A current pursuit is scanning out-of-print books using OCR, producing epub versions.

David Karkut, MA is a business communications and academic skills instructor with over 30 years of experience. He holds an MA in English Education (UBC) and a BA in International Politics and Economics (Middlebury College), as well as being TESL Certified – Level 3 Permanent.

David Lau, CPA, CA, CISA Instructor - Financial Accounting 1

David Lau, BCom, CPA, CA, CISA, is an instructor for Financial Accounting 1 – Part 1 and 2. David recently retired from the Office of the Auditor General, B.C. (OAGBC) in Victoria as the Director of IT Audit. His experience included overseeing financial audits of major Crowns and Ministries, and IT related performance audits. While working for OAGBC, he taught accounting and auditing courses with Camosun College as well as worked for the CPA PEP as the facilitator. David is also a board member and Treasurer of two non-charity organizations and is currently an accounting instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Isabel Chan, BA Instructor - Quickbooks, Sage 50

Isabel Chan has been an IT professional for over two decades. She is knowledgeable with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50 and ACCPAC. In addition to teaching Typing/Keyboarding, Windows File Management and MS Office, she is also experienced in ERP software and dental practice management software.

Jeff Ward BSc. (Sask), MSc. (Alberta) have worked in the private sector (domestically and abroad) and for the government (with 15+ years combined work experience prior to academics). He has been a full-time faculty at Douglas College for the past 17 years, where he has taught over twenty different courses in finance, business, and economics. His specializations in economics include micro/macro, trade, finance, econometrics and public policy.

Joe Ilsever, PhD, CPA, IMA, FICB is tenured faculty from University of Fraser Valley and a CPA (Canada, Texas), IMA (USA), FICB (Canada) for thirty years, specializing in accounting, corporate finance, taxation, and quantitative methods. He holds a PhD in mathematical and statistical modeling of finance and accounting applications, focusing on e-commerce issues, data modelling and predictive analytics. Dr. Ilsever has experience in financial management, corporate treasury operations, corporate tax, trend and forecasting models and he has published extensively in accounting and finance journals. His passion in teaching is grounded in bringing real life experiences, and applied, relevant workplace skills into the classroom and safeguarding student success and motivation.
