Political Science

The Political Science Program is housed in the Department of History, Latin, and Political Science (HLPS) at Langara. Our department brings together three disciplines dedicated to understanding the diverse character and dynamics of our world, past and present. Our department offers courses that span the history of the world from ancient times to contemporary society, and courses in each of the three disciplines that we cover complement the others.

Our faculty members are actively engaged in their disciplines and communities through academic conferences, publication, and involvement in political and civic organizations. Thus our students are taught by outstanding scholars who are often nationally or internationally-recognised experts in their fields.

Our faculty are also united by a dedication to excellence in instruction, and helping students to learn and grow is our passion. Through our teaching we encourage students to become responsible members of society while also providing them with foundational skills that will be immensely useful to them, regardless of what career path they take.
