Indigenous Leadership in Recreation

The Indigenous Leadership in Recreation Micro-Credential prepares learners to support recreation, wellness, cultural, and community initiatives within Indigenous communities. Through three integrated courses, learners develop practical skills in leadership, facilitation, recreation programming, event coordination, communication, and partnership development using culturally responsive, community-informed, and Indigenous approaches to recreation. Delivered through a combination of online learning, in-person gatherings, and applied community-based learning, the program strengthens workforce capacity while creating additional career or educations pathways to learners.
