Hear Max talk about being a Colombian author in Canada and how he uses writing to tell and honour a Colombian family's true and incredible story of surviving the Colombian Conflict in the 1960s, and finding their way back to each other. A story rarely told, but needs to be acknowledged and remembered.
Maximiliano Moreno Sastre, better known as Max Moreno, is a Langara Alumnus since 2024. He is a Colombian-Jewish-LGBTQ Award-winning author of the short story, “Ain’t No Way This Is Real.” Born into a Colombian-Immigrant family in 2006 in London, Ontario, Max sees being Colombian as an honour to represent - something that's clearly seen in his writing. Max studies English Literature at Langara College, and wants to become a youth psychologist.
