Jul 15, 2014

As part of the upgrades to the main campus in the construction of the new Science & Technology Building, the following traffic and parking changes will be implemented:
  • July 17 - all street parking on Ontario Street from 49th to 51st Avenue removed to accommodate permanent separated bike lanes on each side of the street with two-way vehicle lanes in the middle.
  • July 21 - work begins in the parking lot south of B building. Parallel parking removed and short-term parking reconfigured to allow for two-way lanes. Ontario Street south entrance converted to two-way traffic flow.
  • Late August - parking entrance on 49th Avenue closed for the duration of the new building construction (projected completion Fall 2016).

It is anticipated that traffic patterns will be affected by these changes, and it is advised that students and staff factor in extra time when planning their commute to campus. The College will continue to work with the City to monitor traffic flow in and out of the campus to keep disruptions to a minimum.

Parking

  • Two additional levels of parking in the Library underground parkade will be opened up, providing 316 new parking spaces for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Parking on residential streets marked as Permit/Residents Only is not permitted. As a courtesy to our neighbours and to avoid fines or towing, please abide by City of Vancouver parking regulations.
