JENNIFER CANE (she/they) is Director/Curator at the Burnaby Art Gallery, where she previously served as Assistant Curator. She has curated numerous exhibitions and written for publications and catalogues for the Or Gallery, Open Space, Yukon Arts Centre, Nelson Museum and Burnaby Art Gallery, among others. She was a co-curator of the touring exhibition Anna Wong: Traveller on Two Roads, recipient of the Canadian Museums Association Award of Outstanding Achievement in Exhibitions (2019). Her research interests centre upon ideas of labour, authenticity, social history, and leisure culture. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art history from Concordia University in Montreal and a master’s degree in critical and curatorial studies from the University of British Columbia. Jennifer is of British, Irish, Welsh, and Swedish settler descent, and resides on the ancestral and unceded homelands of the Qaqayt Nation.
