I have received my MSc in molecular evolution from the Department of Science at the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, MB) and my PhD from the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics at the University of Manitoba, in collaboration with the Research Institute of Oncology and Hematology at CancerCare Manitoba (Winnipeg, MB). I began my PhD research by investigating the biochemistry and the signal transductions in breast cancers and concluded it with multiple projects on cancer epidemiology, in particular blood malignancies. I continued my interdisciplinary research at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA) where I did a postdoctoral fellowship in Genetic Epidemiology focusing on blood malignancies.
I have published in several peer-reviewed medical journals and presented my work at multiple international conferences.
