Mathematics Diagnostic Tests (MDT)
The Mathematics Diagnostic Tests (MDT) are part of the assessment process designed to identify the math or statistics course that is most appropriate in view of a student's background, current abilities, and future needs. The MDTs are applicable only to Langara College courses and programs.
It is necessary to register for the MDT. There is a fee of $45.00 and you will be expected to have your receipt available in order to enter the testing room.

MDT (Test 1 and 2) registration no longer includes SDT.

Before you arrive, please consider which test you need to write; contact the department if you are uncertain. There are two different tests:
- Math Test 1 (covering material from grades 9, 10, and 11) if you want to take MATH 1101, 1118, 1150 or 1190, or to qualify for programs requiring Math 11
- Math Test 2 (covering material from grades 10, 11 and 12) if you want to take MATH 1152, 1170, 1171, 1173, 1174, or 1175
