The Art History Certificate is intended for students in all disciplines who are interested in developing visual literacy, an indispensable skill that will allow them to recognize, interpret, and appreciate meaning in our image-saturated world.
The Gerontology Diploma will prepare you for employment in the field of gerontology within a wide range of service settings such as: health and wellness, education, recreation, community support, advocacy, residential and palliative care.
The Langara Student Success Course (LSSC) is a new initiative at Langara delivered to students completely online through a learning management system called Brightspace. The primary goal of the LSSC is to prepare students for academic life at Langara, as well as introduce them to key supports that are available to them on campus. All new students, beginning with students registered in the fall 2018 semester, will receive access to this free online course.

Disability Services at Langara College is now Accessibility Services. Our dedicated staff will continue to provide the same support services to students with disabilities to ensure equal access to the educational environment.
Please encourage your students to start working on their financial plan for September. Langara’s Financial Aid and Awards office can help them get information on student loans, grants, bursaries, scholarships, awards, and other funding.
Our Counselling Service department offers 90-minute sessions designed to help students understand the basics of getting started at Langara and how to plan for university transfer. They also discuss prerequisites, diagnostic tests and course registration. Here is a schedule of upcoming sessions.
Several of Langara’s departments offer information sessions for prospective students. Please encourage your student to attend one of these sessions to get a glimpse of their Langara student life.
All new students registered in the fall 2018 semester are invited to attend New Student Orientation during the week of August 20. Participants can expect an informative day that will launch their Langara experience, connect them with new and returning students, and introduce them to the campus and key resources needed for success. Each day winds up with a free BBQ lunch and lots of great prizes.
Parents and other supporters play an important role in student success and can attend Parent and Supporter Orientation to receive resources and information about how to support their student during transition to college. Parent and Supporter Orientation is hosted once a year, prior to the start of the fall semester. This year, orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.
