Spring 2023 Orientation Session Descriptions

New Student Orientation presented by RBC Royal Bank (Online)

New Student Orientation (NSO) connects all new students (domestic and international) with the people, tools, resources, and services needed to support a successful transition into Langara. Register for online NSO to meet other students, get situated, participate in fun games and activities and find out how you can get involved inside and outside of the classroom.

International Student Orientation (Online)

International Student Orientation (ISO) is essential for new international students starting their studies with Langara College. ISO will connect you with other new international students, help you understand some of the cultural and academic differences you may encounter in your classes, and introduce you to what services and support Langara Global can provide for you.

Faculty & Student Panel and Social Connections

Faculty & Student Panels provide a great window into getting valuable information on the first semester experience. Come along to this session to learn more about expectations in the classroom, what to expect in the first semester, where to access support and resources to support you social, academic, physical, and mental wellbeing, and hear from current students on a day in the life of a student. Following the panel session, Langara College’s GO Team volunteers will be hosting conversations to make connections between new students with similar interests – if you want to meet new people but you’re not sure how, you don’t want to miss this session!

Campus Tours

Have you been wondering how you’ll be able to find your classroom or other key locations on campus? What about how to read your course schedule? By registering for a 45-minute guided campus tour, you can join other new-to-Langara students in learning how to navigate campus while making friends and connections along the way. Campus tours are led by Langara College’s GO Team volunteers who are trained to help you feel more at ease as you start your first semester.

Back to School Department Fair

Whether you’re in your first term or a continuing student, you will find something valuable and informative at the Back to School Department Fair. Stop by and visit the different booths, pick up some free swag and resources, speak to knowledgeable and friendly Langara College and Langara Student Union (LSU) staff members, and learn about the many free resources and services that are accessible to you.
