snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ is very fortunate to have an Elder-in-Residence (EIR) Program.  It has been said that 'Elders are our communities' Phds'.  They are holders of sacred Indigenous knowledge and are vital to our Indigenization and reconciliation work at Langara College. The Elders-in-Residence provide support, guidance, and cultural teachings to Indigenous students visiting the Gathering Space, including opportunities for engaging in cultural practice and ceremony.  Langara College students, staff, and faculty can request Elder support for events, classroom visits, etc. through the EIR program.  Indigenous students and Indigenous programs have priority.  Please note that the Elders are community Elders and not employees of the College.  Their time is valuable and limited.  Elders must be treated with respect and are supported by the college community.  Elder wellness is a top priority.
