Q: How do I access course materials before classes start?
A: Course materials are accessed through Brightspace. Some materials may not be available until the first week of classes.

Q: How do I access my Langara email?
A: Langara email is accessed through Outlook via Office 365. Login details are sent to your personal email.

Q: Is the Langara Student Success Course (LSSC) mandatory?
A: No. The LSSC is not mandatory but, it is strongly recommended as it will provide you with skills and resources to prepare you for academic success. 

Q: Is there a gym on campus?
A: Open gym and campus recreation activities are free for students. The YMCA is located next to campus.

Q: How many clubs are there, and how do I find them?
A: The number of clubs varies each year, but there are typically 25–40 active clubs.

Q: When is Clubs Day?
A: Clubs Day will take place on Thursday, January 8, in the A Building main foyer.

Q: How does the U-Pass fee work?
A: The U-Pass fee is charged per term, not monthly.

Q: Do I need to pay for GuardMe insurance if I have BC MSP?
A: No. Students with BC MSP can opt out of guard.me insurance within the first month of the semester.

Q: Is this the only orientation for Spring semester?
A: This is the main orientation for all Spring semester students. International students also have International Student Orientation on Wednesday, December 17. Additional activities such as the Department Fair, VOLT Fair, and Clubs Day will take place during the first week of classes in the A Foyer.

Visiy the Academic Success Centre or the offices located in the Library (L Building) on the first floor. The Academic Success Centre is designed to be a one-stop shop for services and tools to help enhance your learning.

IT will help you with any technological problems, from providing access to information, including ID activation, password change, and everything in between.

Buy your U-Pass at the bookstore

Once you have a Compass Card, you can login at UPass BC with your Langara credentials. Click for more information about U-Pass.

How I can find my classroom

When you are looking for your room number, the building is listed first, then the room number. Here's a few examples: 

  • If your class is in A229. This means A [A Building] 2 [2nd floor], Room 229 
    If your class is in B030.
  • This means B [B Building] 0 [Basement] Room 030

The Langara Safe App is a free mobile safety app that can be used while on Langara’s main campus. Get important safety information, contacts, maps, and procedures in one place.
