Biology Club
The Langara Biology Club provides as a means to bridge student engagement and an appreciation for the natural world currently working in and around all of us! Working in accordance with the Biology Department, our goal is to cultivate a diverse and open resource space not only for those studying biology but for anyone with a general interest in life science. The club also aims to increase and strengthen a sense of community amongst its members through various events, wherein students can further apply what they learn towards their own long-term goals and career aspirations. If you are looking to socially connect with people who share an interest in biology and be involved in an environment that is conducive to academic success and learning, then this is the club for you.
Chemistry Club
Have fun with chemistry! Our goal is to make chemistry fun and accessible to all Langara students by providing fun activities and connecting chemistry students. The Chemistry Club lets students come up with their own experiments to try such as making soap, bubbles, wine titration, etc. The Chemistry Club also organizes study groups and talks by alumni who are continuing their studies and/or are working in the field.
Computer Science Club
The Langara Computer Science Club is dedicated to furthering the interests of students studying computer science at Langara College. Our goal is to improve the state of student life at Langara by providing a space for students outside of their studies. We invite students from all majors to join our programming workshops and social meetups that are held every few weeks. Our club also holds special events such as a UBC/SFU transfer panel and the inaugural Langara Hacks! 2023. We are also excited to offer leadership opportunities to computer science students in the form of executive positions, which are a great way to learn new skills and to gain leadership experience.
French Club
The Langara French Club is dedicated to immersing students in French language and culture while providing a welcoming and fun environment for learners of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Through a variety of engaging activities, social events, and outings, we offer opportunities to explore French culture, practice language skills outside the classroom, and connect with like-minded individuals. Whether you're looking to enhance your fluency or simply experience the charm of French culture, the Langara French Club is the perfect place to start. Join us to meet new friends, improve your French, and enjoy exciting events!
Geography and Geology Club
The Langara Geography & Geology Club is the place to go for all things geographical - urban and physical! Whether your interest is in urban planning, transit maps, landforms, or shiny gemstones, the club is the place to express your love for them. We host various fun activities on and outside of campus for people of all levels of knowledge, so it doesn't matter whether you're just a hobbyist who likes shiny rocks or an advanced scholar with years of knowledge under your belt - the club is for you.
Kinesiology Association
The Langara Kinesiology Association aims to foster a community for those who love kinesiology at Langara! The Kinesiology Association strives to build community by hosting frequent events to help students learn more and bond over kinesiology! In addition, the club aims to inform students about volunteering or internship opportunities regarding to kinesiology and other similar fields, admissions to master programs, medical school and more.
Nutrition Club
The Langara Nutrition Club is a student led volunteering group with a vision to serve the community. We will provide volunteering and skill development opportunities for Langara students. Students who want to give back to the community and sharpen their skills will benefit from joining. We aim to create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment where we can be grateful, cheerful, and helpful. We aim to share up to date research-based information regarding healthy nutrition tips, facts, and information. In addition, the club aims to motivate people to have an active lifestyle through exercises that are fun and safe, and create activities for Langara's community that involves nutrition awareness, education, and prevention.
Psychology Club
We are a club designed for students who are interested in psychology and mental health (you don't have to be majoring in psychology!). Join us for meetings where you can meet like-minded people who are curious about psychology and mental health, and participate in de-stress events and hangouts, and more!
