Social Media Student Ambassador Program
Are you a creative and tech-savvy student with a passion for video content creation?
We’re looking for Social Media Ambassadors to showcase campus life from a student perspective. Two volunteer roles are open: TikTok & Instagram Video Creators and Instagram Stories Takeover Hosts.
Both roles are flexible and adaptable to your capacity, with time varying based on content and skills (typically 1–5 hours per project). You’ll collaborate with the Social Media team on ideas and timelines, while choosing how much content you create.
TikTok & Instagram Video Creators will capture and edit engaging videos of their college experiences, tips, and other exciting content for TikTok and Instagram Reels. They will plan, capture and edit videos from start to finish for Langara’s main social media channels.
Main responsibilities
In collaboration with the social media team, students will brainstorm ideas, write scripts, and plan video content that showcases the daily lives of college students, provides useful tips, and offers valuable insights.
- Film and capture high-quality footage of various aspects of college life.
- Edit videos and incorporate catchy music and/or voiceovers.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques in video production for social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
- Stay connected with the social media team to align video content with the college's brand guidelines and goals.
Requirements
- Current student at Langara College.
- Experience with capturing high-quality video footage and video editing software.
- Strong creative thinking and storytelling skills.
- Knowledge of trends and best practices for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
- Excellent communication in English; written and spoken.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Passion for creating engaging and relatable content for college students.
