Rainbow Foundation of Hope Education Entrance Scholarship

The Rainbow Foundation of Hope Education Entrance Scholarship was established to financially support LGBTQ+ students who are newcomers to Canada. Newcomers to Canada will be defined as residing in Canada for five years or less.

Applicants can apply for the $12,500 award if they are planning to start their full-time or part-time program in the fall semester.

Eligibility Criteria

Recipients will:

  • Be a member of the LGBTQ+ community facing financial hardship
  • Be a newcomer to Canada at the time of the application
  • Be entering the College as full-time or part-time in Regular Studies or Continuing Studies programs
  • Demonstrate a passion for education and a commitment to complete a credential at Langara College
  • Preference will be given to Refugee/Asylum Claimants.

The deadline to apply for fall 2026 is Friday, June 26, 2026, at 4:00 pm. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email in July. 

Steps to Apply

1. Complete the application form below in full before the deadline.

2. Include all the following in the fields provided below:

  • Copy of your offer of admission or condition admission to Langara College.
  • Personal statement that describes your reason(s) for applying for this entrance award and your passion for education and commitment to completing a credential at Langara College.
  • Refugee Protection Claimant Document or Notice of Decision confirming your Refugee status document if applying to the award as a Refugee/Asylum Claimant.
  • Receipts and other supporting documents if applicable.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure this application is completed in full. Complete all sections of the application form below. Applications submitted that are missing information may result in disqualification.
