Description
Community recreation leadership is rooted in supporting people, relationships, and collective well-being. Students explore Indigenous approaches to leadership and facilitation while developing communication, conflict de-escalation, self-regulation, and group facilitation skills. Through reflection and practice, students examine how culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community centered leadership can support recreation experiences for children, youth, families, Elders, and intergenerational groups.
