Description
Effective Safety Management Systems (SMS) are foundational to ensuring workplace safety and strengthening organizational performance. Students learn how effective safety management integrates policy, leadership, risk management, legal compliance, and continuous improvement to prevent workplace incidents and occupational illness. They also examine the strategic role of safety professionals in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating safety programs that demonstrate due diligence and support organizational performance.
Students learn to apply SMS principles in diverse workplace contexts while meeting professional practice expectations aligned with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals Competency Model.
