Langara College is happy to announce that we are now official members of the China Student Partners Program (SPP)
The Student Partners Program (SPP) creates a special processing channel at the visa office in Beijing for students accepted at ACCC (Association of Canadian Community Colleges) member institutions. The goal is to improve Study Permit approval rates and processing times while managing the risks associated with immigration fraud.
Option 1 - No IELTS results required.
- same supporting documents and information as required by all students applying for study permits in China, including 12 months' banking history
- confirmation of pre-payment of first academic term provided by the SPP partner institution (currently $4800 for 2 sessions of ESL or $5000 for the University Transfer program)
- expedited processing of two (2) weeks if the medical examination is completed prior to the submission of the application at the visa office in Beijing
- mandatory use of Visa Application Centres
- required signature of the Release of Information Form to allow the college to report back to the visa office on your attendance in Canada
Option 2 - IELTS results required.
- same supporting documents and information as required by all students applying for study permits in China, with the exception of banking history
- a requirement of a minimum IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall band score of 5.5
- confirmation of pre-payment of first academic term provided by the SPP partner institution (currently $4800 for 2 sessions of ESL or $5000 for the University Transfer program)
- expedited processing of two (2) weeks if the medical examination is completed prior to the submission of the application at the visa office in Beijing
- mandatory use of Visa Application Centres
- required signature of the Release of Information Form to allow the college to report back to the visa office on your attendance in Canada
Students who plan to register for one of Langara's ESL programs (STEP or LEAP) are requested to inform the college of their application for a Study Permit through the China SPP.
The Canadian Embassy in Beijing's website (in English) (in Chinese) contains a link to a guide and an application kit designed especially for students who wish to apply under this program.
