Time: 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Women who aspire to study, work, and seek advancement in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields face unique challenges. While the number of women working in STEM careers continues to grow, there still remains inequity in the number of women pursuing educational opportunities and achieving high-level careers with equal pay.

49Women in Science wants to help break down the barriers many of our students will face as they follow their science dreams. 49Women in Science provides philanthropic support, resources, and access to 49Women in Science mentors to prepare students for a successful STEM career.

On Monday, March 8 we will be joined by Johanna Wagstaffe, meteorologist, seismologist and scientist for CBC Vancouver News and CBC News Network. During the hour-long virtual event, Johanna will share her education and professional experiences as a woman in science, followed by a Q&A.

Please register via the online form below. The Zoom link will be provided in a reminder email on Mar. 8.

This is an inclusive event hosted by the Faculty of Science. Interested instructors and students from other faculties are also welcome to attend the event.
