Description
Students analyze core concepts in modern physics, focusing on special relativity and the development of quantum theory. They examine how these frameworks describe the behavior of atomic, molecular, and condensed matter systems, and extend to nuclear, particle, and astrophysical phenomena. Students apply mathematical and conceptual tools to interpret and explain physical processes across a wide range of scales.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum "C-" grade in PHYS 1225, and MATH 1271 or 1273; or permission of the department.
