Description
Students examine advanced topics in classical mechanics, focusing on motion in multiple dimensions and complex physical systems. They analyze forces in non-inertial frames, rotational motion, and gravitational interactions using a range of coordinate systems. Students apply analytical and computational methods, including Lagrangian and Hamiltonian approaches, to model and interpret the dynamics of physical systems. They will build the skills they need to do physics like a physicist.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum "C-" grade in PHYS 1215 or 1225; and a minimum "C-" grade in MATH 2371 (may be taken concurrently); or permission of department.

Students are encouraged to complete MATH 2475 before, or concurrently, with PHYS 2323.
