Langara’s FREE General Health English Language Learning (ELL) course is designed to help you build the language, communication, and workplace skills you need to succeed in your studies and prepare for a career in healthcare administration.

  • Build the language, study, and workplace skills needed to succeed in both your Langara healthcare program and your future career
  • Strengthen your English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for healthcare settings
  • Increase your confidence communicating professionally with patients, colleagues, and healthcare teams
  • Develop workplace communication skills and expand your general healthcare vocabulary
  • Gain confidence using technology and digital tools to support learning and workplace tasks
  • Prepare for employment while exploring equity, diversion, inclusion and culturally safe practices in healthcare

Details

  • Eligibility:
    • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and individuals with refugee status
    • Learners with an intermediate level of English. 
    • Students enrolled in Langara’s MOA, Advanced MOA, or Dental Reception program for the September-December 2026 term 
       
  • Course Details:
    • Dates: September 14 – December 4, 2026 (12 weeks)
  • Delivery:
    • Online with primarily asynchronous learning, so you can study when it works best for your schedule 
    • There will be 12 hours of learning each week, including:
      • 2 hours of scheduled online class time
      • 10 hours of independent coursework each week
